Cotswold Edge Sixth Form
GetAhead Tasks
Before you start Cotswold Edge Sixth Form, we ask that you carry out GetAhead tasks for each of the subjects you intend to study with us
The purpose of these tasks is:
- To provide you with an insight into the nature of the courses you have chosen
- To prepare you for the step up in expectation between pre- and post-16 studies
- To give you some background knowledge to your courses before you start and, for some courses, to provide information and skills that will be directly used and built upon in term 1
- To allow your new teachers to assess the level of your work and your commitment to the course
It is therefore important that you complete these to the best of your ability. The first task for each subject must be brought to your first lesson in September. The second is due to be completed and submitted to your teachers by the end of September - they will give you an exact date once you have started the course.
If you attended the Induction Day on 2nd July 2025, you will have received your GetAhead tasks then. But, if you did not attend Induction Day, or if you want an electronic copy of the tasks, then they are attached below as pdfs. In addition, if you have second thoughts about your choices, the GetAheads are a useful way of finding out more about other courses which might prove more suitable and enjoyable for you.
